And How We Operate

The Orthodox Conservatives functions in two ways. The first is as a grassroots, socially conservative movement that mobilizes ordinary people via our campus and constituency networks; and the second is as a think tank and political pressure group that uses primary research to support policy suggestions. This latter endeavour is very important to us as it is necessary to provide the intellectual narrative for social conservatism.

In our research team there are Senior Researchers - established experts in their field who are willing to contribute research that we publish throughout the year; and a corresponding Research Lead beneath them who will contribute regular articles and commentary in their field. All leads are given media opportunities which will enable them to build their profile with regular coverage. The Senior Researchers and Research Leads should be able to work together in their respective areas and produce material that we can use for training purposes and other activities.

We welcome a range of candidates to apply to become Research Leads, but specify that they should preferably have an undergraduate degree or extensive experience in the area they wish to contribute in. Whilst it is not normally possible to accept applications from current undergraduate students, we do occassionaly accept individuals who reasonably demonstrate their committment and enthusiasm, or a body of relevant work.

Senior Researchers should have a mininum of a Masters in the area in which they are applying for but preferably should already have, or be working towards, a PhD or a portfolio of relevant expertise.

We also accept contributions from columnists who wish to provide additional comment and opinion pieces on topical news and current affairs issues, as well as in other areas of socially conservative interest.

There will be a mixture of both paid and unpaid projects to be undertaken within the organisation.

If you are interested in our organisation and believe you are able to help us make the case for conservatism as a sensible choice for ordinary people, then select one of the positions below and send an email introducing yourself. One of our executive team will get back to you and may ask for a CV and links to your social media. It is sometimes customary to have an initial telephone consultation to discuss your principles and get to know you better.
